U Bein bridge

U Bein Bridge was named after the mayor of Amarapura, after King Bodawpaya moved his capital there. It was built in 1849 from old planks and timber posts salvaged from the former capital.
The colorful Thanboddhay Paya, 20 kilometers south of Monywa bursts with pink, yellow, orange and blue colors, and is adorned by more than half a million buddha images.

Shwezigon Paya
The Ananda Temple was built n the 12th century during the reign of King Kyanzittha. It is one of four surviving temples in Bagan. It was named after Buddha's first cousin and most devout disciple.
Built in the 13th century by King Htilominlo, the temple has a three story terraced design. Inside are four buddhas, each one facing a cardinal direction.

In Buddhism, a novice monk is known as a samanera. It literally means 'small samana', or small renunciate, where 'small' has the meaning of boy or girl.
The Intha people or 'sons of the lake' live on and around Inle Lake. They are largely self-sufficient farmers and fishermen.
